This project was conducted during my time in Shanghai; It is a conceptual plan for two city blocks north of the Suzhou Creek. The entire area is in the midst of an extensive redevelopment. This project required largely residential space while maintaining a base of education on the site.

 

The area is home to an emerging art community and the masterplan incorporates artists’ studios along with a market and college focused around art and design. Three residential towers occupy the western block of the site, each conforming to the strict regulations on residential buildings including massing, orientation and height limitations.
