VCXIO - Abstract Design with Blender Geometry Nodes.

Abstract Specimen VCXIO
"Put it in a tank and observe."
Blender Geometry Nodes were animated over 240 frames and rendered in Cycles.
Adobe Premiere and Photoshop were used for post-production.

The node layout is based on a YouTube tutorial by Default Cube.

Instanced cubes were distributed on a Curve Circle.
The rotation of the instances was driven by the Scene Time.
The Index was used to offset the position of the individual cubes in the array.
Altering key variables like the Radius of the Circle, the x,y, z scale of the cube yields different shapes of the instance array.
The instance array was placed inside an observation tank created from a customized cylinder mesh primitive.
A spot light was used to illuminate the instance inside the tank.
Outside a key and a fill light were added.
To create an animated loop the key parameters of the instance were altered over time.
In addition the lighting setup was adjusted to best fit the current shape of the array.
The 8 second motion graphic loop was rendered with Blender Cycles.
The image sequence was converted to H.264 video in Adobe Premiere.

Resolution 1080x1350
240 frames
4096 samples per frame
Total render time ~ 7h 18min
Average time per frame ~ 1min 50sec

The overview image was created in Adobe Photoshop.
