Piedmont Tudor
Piedmont, CA

The quiet, formal landscape responds both to the architecture and the client’s desire for a restful garden space that pleases the eye and speaks softly to the senses.

This lovely Tudor home was remodeled with lines and details inspired by Provençal architecture. The house rests stately on a hill but is gracefully framed by mature oak, maple, cypress, and redwood trees. The cooler tones of the stonework are offset by the sunny, warm colors of the house.

Occasional accents of bright fuchsia rhododendron blooms reflect the happy spirit of spring, while the hand-carved fountain provides the garden with both subtle movement and sound, and creates a stunning focal point from within the home. Stone basket weave and hanging planters, as well as subtle statuary, grace the garden with spots of color, and vitality.
