THE CHALLENGE
As commonly experienced across retailers, Orchestra’s customers would often search for an outfit in the store and be unable to find the correct size, style or color. In Orchestra’s case, the customer was directed to inform an available sales representative who would record the request and later call the customer when a shipment of the desired item had arrived. This process resulted in a high level of lost sales since many customers would leave the store empty handed and shop elsewhere for the item.
THE SOLUTION
To solve this issue while also offering a value-added service to the store’s Club Orchestra members, Orchestra reached out to IntuiLab to create an interactive application , hosted on a touchscreen kiosk, that would serve two purposes.
The first allows customers to scan a product barcode to pull up detailed product information and options (color, size, style) and to place an order for in-store delivery of items not currently in stock.
The second purpose is to allow customers to discover Orchestra product collections and special offers as well as to place orders, creating an “endless aisle” experience.The application was built using the IntuiFace kiosk software platform.

HARDWARE DECISION
A POS terminal is hosted in the same kiosk station, enabling Orchestra Club members to pay directly with a payment card. The customer is sent a confirmation email and receives a printed receipt at the time of payment. The kiosk enclosure was designed by PolyPixel and uses an interactive screen supplied by an IntuiLab Partner, EloTouch Solutions.
THE RESULT
The interactive application is now deployed in 5 stores in France and planned for a future rollout to all locations in the country.
