Fightin' Texas Aggies Art Direction, Spring 2021

Spring is a great time to play with a football brand's sandbox and begin redefining and exploring new visuals without the increased deadline pressures associated with in-season content. The goal in 2021 was simple: continue to build on some brand identity established in 2020 while simplifying and removing extraneous elements. Bigger focus on the color maroon and keeping art elements simple.
After the success of installing the "Helmet Havoc" fan vote bracket at Oklahoma State the previous year, I wanted to do something similar for Texas A&M. Being without alternate uniforms, our next choice was to let fans vote on their favorite plays. The outcome [Devon Achane's touchdown run to win the Orange Bowl] was fairly predictable, but it was a great opportunity nonetheless to celebrate the biggest moments from the season. The bracket consisted of four of the best offensive plays and four of the best defensive plays. Players were given graphics and videos to "campaign" for fan votes, which were tabulated on Twitter and Instagram.
