Conceptual PSA Posters:
Imagine Girls in STEM
Objective
The objective for this project was to create a series of Public Service Announcement (PSA) posters that could be used as a printed ad campaign to bring awareness to a significant issue. The topic I chose to highlight was encouraging young girls to pursue STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
Inspiration and Audience
My inspiration for these posters stemmed from one question: what would science look like if more girls were involved with it?
My target audience is young girls, ages 9-13 (late elementary school through middle school) but also includes the parents and teachers of these girls. My intent was that these posters would be hung in a library or school hallway or classroom.
Sponsor
Part of the assignment was to include the logo of either the Ad Council or choose an appropriate affiliation. The company I chose is called Pretty Brainy. Their mission is to empower girls to develop their STEAM abilities and genius to positively impact their communities and world. They create learning opportunities that respect girls as thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators.
