The Puppet is an electronic dancing costume that aims to make people pay more attention on female’s unfair treatment and reduce gender stereotype. The Puppet is inspired by neopixel cage dress and corset dress. By designing this dancing costume, I would like to encourage girls and women to be confident with their ability. It aims to convey that women are equally independent and leadership competent compared with men. The puppet used two accelerometers attaching on both hands to track movements on X axis and Z axis. There are seven neopixel strips on the front of the upper body that changing colors following hands movements. It also used two strips of elastic band suspending dancer’s arms to make it more like a puppet and also present how women’s lives are limited by gender stereotypes.
