Toshiko Ishii, uma ceramista japonesa que se naturalizou brasileira, chegou ao Brasil em 1931 como imigrante. Sua jornada artística começou a florescer em 1970, quando se estabeleceu na região de Brumadinho, em Minas Gerais. A produção de cerâmica tornou-se a paixão central de sua vida, revelando-se como uma fonte de inspiração significativa. A habilidade artística de Ishii é evidente em seus desenhos, exibindo pureza e delicadeza, ao passo que sua força se manifesta nas peças queimadas no forno à lenha. Com base na atuação do Instituto, busquei criar uma identidade visual autêntica, afetuosa e sensível, que valoriza em especial o processo humano de aprender e fazer. Para representar esse processo, coletei formas orgânicas do momento que as mãos dos artersãos fazem ao criar, e as utilizei na identidade.

Based on the Institute's performance, I sought to create an authentic, affectionate and sensitive visual identity, which particularly values the human process of learning and doing. To represent this process, I collected organic shapes from the moment that artisans' hands make when creating, and used them in the identity.

A paleta de cores tem referência inspiracional na arte e paisagem da Serra da Moeda. Tanto em matéria, quanto em objetos de observação como o clima e a biodiversidade.
