Bradley Ridge Masterplan (Streetscapes + Active Space)

Bradley Ridge Masterplan
Western Sydney

This project involved the development of a landscape masterplan for a new residential development; Bradley Ridge located on undulating rural topography with views to the Blue Mountains in Sydney Australia.
The project involved design and documentation suitable for DA which was to include the design of all streetscapes, neighbourhood parks, entry area and active open spaces.

The landscape Vision was to create an attractive and sustainable residential community set in the context of the local rural landscape that emphasises the site’s natural attributes and its proximity to the Blue Mountains. Community living will focus around high quality special places such as neighbourhood and local parks, riparian corridors and viewing points to the Mountains.

The landscape Objectives were to create a strong, integrated landscape framework  that is permeable and capitalises on views and vistas. The aim was to link open space areas with ecological corridors and consolidate the remnant pockets of Cumberland PlainWoodland into open space areas.

The design process was led by the intention to incorporate site drainage,  WSUD, ESD, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design and bushfire management requirements into the landscape framework to create an efficient and sustainable landscape.
