Combining all of camera feeds into one dashboard, with contextual actions that let the property manager controls what the camera sees. The unique camera dashboard allow view multiple streams at once, rewatch old footage, quickly reboot cameras and unlock doors remotely – all while watching over the building from anywhere.

In order to capture the user needs for this feature a serie of 1:1 user interviews were performed. The interview protocol was designed to capture the most valuable answers from the users responsible to perform the video surveillance tasks. The goal was also to map the user tasks and the expected outputs. 

After mapping out the user journey, it was the time to balance the business goals and the possible technical constraints strains (in special when we are talking about IoT and interconnected systems). 

The user stories generated for the project were the golden spot among user desires, business expectations and the engineering possibilities.

After rounds of low and high fidelity prototypes, user-testing sessions, re-designs and improvement cycles planned the Video Playback feature was implemented allowing more than hundreds buildings across Canada to remotely manage cameras footage and perform remote investigations. 

User satisfaction levels has been monitored since the first MVP implementation and it already is demonstrating impacting on the sales and retention metrics.
