Kunti`s Mahabharata

MAHABHARATA:

The life of a woman is very well defined,
She must never grumble, play the part she’s been assigned,
She protects the hopes and hearts of her family,
Every second of time.

She can endure all kinds of pain.
Most of the time she has no choice, it’s not her own mind.
Yet she stands strong, she holds it all,
That’s the life of a woman,
She can bear it all.

Scene 1:

What should I do?
I didn’t know if it would actually come true.
Little child, this is something I cannot do.
So, I must send you away with my blessing,
All my good wishes you have always.
I am sorry, but this is where we must separate.

What I have done, I cannot undo.
Oh, how did I know it would all come true?
So irresponsible, what a terrible price to pay.
I pray and pray for my little child,
May he grow up to be healthy, wealthy and wise

Scene 2 :

Oh, what is it Arjun?
I cannot hear, what did you say;
you got something, a prize?
Whatever it is, share it amongst yourselves,
Equally, divide.

Oh my. What have I done?
I asked you to share a wife?
How was I to know that, that was the prize?
Now however I cannot go back on my word,
You, Draupadi, will be the first wife to all of my sons.

What do you think?
Isn’t that weird?
Why can’t she go back on her word?
It’s something different and special, not some goofy junk,
You think this is righteousness or dharma
That`s something to think about
A thought that might stay in your head
It`s something you might worry about

scene 3:

Not so long after, there came a day when all the pandavas were training
Trying to spear a fish through its eyes as it spun above faster
It was just another exhibition and Arjuna excelled
But then walked in karna, a man with some serious skills
As he was about to shoot the fish, there came a cry
a man who was not of royal blood couldn’t enjoy
these rights and skills that a royal possessed
so there he stood as he half hung is head
who is your mother was the question asked
Karna seemed to take that question as quite a task
As he turned to leave he was stopped
Given a title so that he could be of royal blood
Then this strange man took his title and quietly left
No one in the room could explain what had happened
They were all quiet and all that could be heard was the sound of silence.

Scene 5:
Kunti hurry and come Madari said
Look look the king is dead
I tried to dissuade him
He wouldn’t hear
The king is gone now, the worst is here

Jealousy and envy filled kunti up
She couldn’t control it
It was eating her up
She spat out at Madari
She wouldn’t listen
Madari just sat there silently weeping

Being the senior wife
She exercised her power
Told Madari to pick herself up and start to move forward
She ordered  her to take care of the children as she prepared to follow her husband
Madari refused
It`s not something she`d let Kunti do
It was Madaris falut she blamed herself
She said shed follow her dead husband
To the gates of heaven or hell
So she burned herself on the kings pyre
Leaving kunti all alone because of pandus desire

Pandu was the 4th man in her life
To contribute to her miseries
The first being her 2 fathers, her son
And now something to add in that line of history
Just when things seems to take a turn, her hopes grew and reached a height
But fell fast and burned bright
One rash act seems unfair
It made her alone
There was nobody there, she was on her own
Life had never been so unfair

Scene 6:
They returned to Hastinapura
The whole lot,
They walked in slow procession
While the rest of the city watched
They were received warmly
And the children as princes
They were sent to the family tutors
And people looked after all his interests
Dritirashta`s continued to rule uncrowned
People were already pointing
To yudhistir to take over the crown
The pandav children were quick leaners
They outshone their cousins
They made their mother proud
But they scorned at it by there brothers

Jealous, jealous, jealous
What to do?
Destroy the Pandavas
That’s what  they resorted too
The plot was foiled by vidura
A good uncle who have had their back
If not for him they would’ve died
There would be no turning back

Oh kunti, the house is to be set on fire
You must escape or you will expire
There is a passage underneath
That you must use
It would lead you to the forst
From where you must constantly move

Eventually a few days later
They returned
They were given half the kingdom
Which is what dritirashtra thought they had earned

Time moved forward and then halted to a major stop
They were invited to play a game of dice
Which vidura tred to stop
Yudhistir couldn’t refuse, he couldn’t resist
So he went ahead and bet every last bit
The pandavas were exiled for the next 13 years
Kunti was old now and couldn’t accompany them there
She stayed at viduras all by herself
“these years are so hard” she felt low
she couldn’t really do much , she had no where to go
she had to stay back
and watch the enemies grow with power
she couldn’t stop it
their power was a constant shower

Kunti was brave and kunti was strong
She stood tall and held her own ground
Daughter of a king, wife of another
When her son became king
She became a queen- mother.

The life of a woman is very well defined,
She must never grumble, play the part she’s been assigned,
She protects the hopes and hearts of her family,
Every second of time.

The end.
