Mockup
Used "Minimal Poster Mockup" on Behance.net

"Posters" is a project for Typography 230. The subject for these posters was different types of fonts available for the students to research and make an interesting design for. As shown below in the mockup, the font I decided to tackle was Neue Haas Grotesk. What was so fun with Neue Haas Grotesk was how many different weights and styles there were to the font, i.e. an italic, bold, medium, and even heavy black version that make using hierarchy all the most effective. I also find it to be a very professional and clean font that's very pleasing to look at and easy to use with all the different styles that can be applied to it. Overall, this was a great project and I'm glad to share my work!
This is the final version of my poster for the "Posters" project. The font being used for all text is Neue Haas Grotesk. For hierarchy, the title is in the 95 black style with a light cream color and the creator's name (Christian Schwartz) in a 75 bold style in a light grey. Below on the left is a brief history of the font, detailing when it was made and who the original producers of the font were. This section is in 55 Roman style with a slightly darker, yet still visible grey. On the upper right is the price of the full set of Neue Haas Grotesk typefaces on fonts.com, with the price in a bold font and the website in regular font, both resting on a cream circle shape in the corner of the poster. Below are the various types of styles the font can be in, each resembling their style according to their name, and all in a dim grey that's, once again, still visible but not too striking. Below is a quote from Matthew Butterick about how Christian Schwartz had brought the font into a new light by digitalizing git and giving it its "subtlety" back. All of this information is on a dark grey background that gives a great contrast to the varying values of text.
