Earlier this year I was given a brief to come up with some African inspired prints for fabric.  A very talented designer and owner of the House of Yemurai, Miss Yemurai Mpinyuri, gave me this mammoth task.  

 

Looking at her work, I was struggling to come up with something that would match.  A couple of sketches later, a tribal inspired design and the African lion designs came to fruition.

 

The result is what you see in this project.  The cherry on top was seeing her interpretation and execution of my designs. I was taken aback when I saw them for the first time on the runway. 

 

Yemurai Mpinyuri, went on to take Designer of The Year, and all credit goes to her for initiating this amazing collaboration.
