The brief was to promote a cultural event held in South Africa by designing an A2 poster. My chosen event is the La Bohéme opera, composed by Giacomo Puccini and first performed on 1 February 1896 in Teatro Regio, Turin. This opera event was held on 11 - 12 February 2020 at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town.
La Bohéme is a tragic love story set in Paris in 1830, revolving around the two main characters, Mimi and Rodolfo. Like a seamstress Mimi was, I have woven together the two characters into a seamless tapestry depicting their tragic love story. I wanted a minimalist and slightly old-school design style to connect with the old enchanting era of the original opera.
