ADVE3630 Web Strategy & Design: Project 3 Accessibility

Project 3 Accessibility
Accessibility is both a design and strategy issue that affects how well a site can be used by people with various disabilities — for example: visual impairment (such as poor vision, complete blindness, or color blindness), audible, motor control.
And, if we design with accessibility in mind, it helps all users by making sites that are easier to use. There are other issues involved, too: a web site that’s not usable by everyone can land the client in legal hot water. For this project we had to find websites that had major issues and fix them. Let's take a look at what I did!
The first website I audited was Creme of Nature. Their accessibility score was a 64 out of 100.
For the Creme of Nature website I simply changed the white text to black due to the lack of readability. Here are before and afters!
The second website I audited was Netflix. Their accessibility score was an 87 out of 100.
For the Netflix website I decided to fix the missing img alt text for the drop down menu and the logo. Here are before and afters!
The third website I audited was Twizzlers. Their accessibility score was an 83 out of 100.
Finally, for the Twizzlers website I fixed small color contrast errors in their text. I experimented with the AA and AAA test.

*they had a switch on the website to show a version that had high contrast, which was really neat.
