Collaboration between Bang & Olufsen and Fernando Alonso
Sharing a passion for design, performance and style, B&O and Fernando Alonso teamed up for a very limited Special Edition of the E8 Sport and Edge speaker. Only 66 units of the Beoplay E8 Sport is produced, and 14 units for the Beosound Edge.
66 is Fernando Alonso´s Indy 500 car number and 14 is his lucky number and long-time car number in F1.
The Fernando Alonso x Beoplay E8 Sport Edition comprises of CMF design in a sleek and subtle Black Anthracite, boasting beautiful details of both Fernando’s signature and logo. Opening the case reveals his signature logo, laser engraved onto the case inlay, alongside with earbuds showcasing his expressive signature on the left, and B&O’s signature logo on the right, each encircled by polished aluminum rings in eye catching green as seen on his car.
The design sports an array of consistent protruded ribs around the perimeter of the charging case in a racetrack manner, and also on the earbuds. This design feature promotes ruggedness into the design, but in a subtle way. In addition, it adds a functional element of grip for sweaty hands.
Packaging Design
The visual design experience carries on to the box, featuring a line art of Fernando’s Indy 500 car in white, with green accents on the logos and the number 66 on his car, all on black to enable design details and colours to subtly stand out.
