ADVE3630 Web Strategy & Design: Project 3 Accessibility
A key factor in a websites success is the ease at which it can be used - both by those who are able bodied and those who have disabilities. For example, blind and deaf people require captions and descriptions for things that those who can see and hear do not. A screen reader must have image descriptions in order to communicate what the image is to the viewer, while captions on videos are necessary for those who are deaf to fully understand what's going on. In other cases, color and text size can cause issues for accessibility as well. Some color combinations are impossible for those who are color blind to see. Similarly, for those who are vision impaired, if the text size or magnifying capabilities of the site are turned off, the viewer won't be able to properly absorb the media.
