Neue Haas Grotesk - Type Specimen

Art230 - Project 03
Type Poster
We have been contacted by Fonts.com to promote a font by creating a printed poster to send out to professional designers. The poster must show the versatility and possibility of the assigned font. In this project our challenge is for the poster has a function to catch the audience eye, inform, and then encourage them to purchase a font.

In this particular project I choose Neue Haas Grotesk by Christian Schwartz as my typeface. I wanted to have a simple, modern look for this project. At first, I was struggling to do that in regards to my last revision. It went retro instead, and so I revised it and used different colors and used long rectangles to give that modern feel to the design.

The Final Design
Modern take of Neue Haas Grotesk using long rectangular lines and with color variation of grey, dark green and light muted green.
The process:
In the color variation, I always have fun on working with colors but I can say this is one of the most challenging concept. I was in a battle of what would my design be if I would focus more on neutral colors or would I want to pop up and to catch attention. I still have that dilemma and I think the answer for my question is to dig deep and research more about my type so I can capture the vision of my designer to their typeface.
I had revised my design but still feels kind of retro for the typeface and so I had change the placing and the color scheme of the design until I had settle on my final design.
