This architectural sculpture is referent to the process of sharpening a pencil. Each of the design's nine constituent nodes are formed from the geometric net of a handheld metal pencil sharpener. The construction's arching form, on the other hand, references wooden pencil shavings—the discarded byproducts of the sharpening process—while suggesting the manual rotation necessary to the tool's proper function.
