NYSCI — Website Redesign & Branding

Several changes were made between the wireframes and final design. For example, I simplified the way the hero image area works, as I felt my original concept felt far too cluttered, something I was trying to prevent.
Activity Page
This page for DIY projects is meant to be used by children and teenagers, so I wanted to draw their eye down the page with the use of color and fun typography. Many projects have a lot of steps which include photos, videos, etc. which were disorganized in the original design. However, for accessibility purposes, the page should also be able to be read and printable in a more simplified format.

In future iterations, I will be adding a way to navigate the steps with more ease with a sort of table of contents feature.
FAQ Page
The original FAQ page had small, hard to read text that was hard to scan. I redesigned it with an accordion so users can immediately find their question and get it answered. The most important part of the question is bold for added scanability (as most people will not read each question and are just searching for key words.) The types of asked questions are separated into larger groups, "general" and "membership."
The interaction of layers, shapes and colors with pictures helps create a fun and unique style that isn't over the top.
