Marlon Brando

When Burt finally met Marlon, Marlon was very rude to him. Taken from Burt Reynolds honest memoirs before he died he quoted about Marlon:
“He didn’t even get up from his chair; he just kind of looked away and mumbled something. After about two minutes of small talk, he accused me of trying to capitalise on my resemblance to him. I’ll tell you right now: I’m not having surgery because you don’t like the way I look,’ I said. ‘But I promise not to get fat.” That ended the conversation, and we never spoke again.”
After that Burt grew a moustache so he didn’t resemble him.

Burt Reynolds was almost Michael Corleone in “The Godfather” but Marlon Brando said that he would walk out if they cast him. In an interview later on Burt said he was flattered that Marlon was upset.

Extract from “The Cardinal” YouTube below. Marlon spoke of Burt “He is the epitome of something that makes me want to throw up. He is the epitome of everything that is disgusting about the thespian, he worships at the temple of his own narcissism.”
A young Burt Reynolds appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone which was called “The Bard,” and aired on May 23, 1963. Jack Weston plays the struggling scriptwriter, Julius Moore who finds a magical book. The book allows him to conjure the assistance of famous writers and historical figures. Burt Reynolds plays the actor Rocky Rhodes.
In Burt’s scene in “The Bard” on YouTube below he is seen doing what can only be described as a Marlon Brando impersonation. Another reason Marlon Brando disliked him.
One of the very few films that Burt Reynolds did with no moustache.
Deliverance

Burt talks towards the end about his disappointing meeting with Marlon Brando and does his impersonation of him on YouTube below.
With Robin Williams it was a different story. He talks about what Brando said to him when they first met. Brando said to him “You know if I ever did a movie with you it would be really hard because I’d be laughing all the time.” I’d have loved to see them in a movie together.
Here is his impersonation of Brando in the YouTube video below.

I have a neighbor in the secret service who I’ve become pretty friendly with, and as it happens, I asked this same question a few months ago. He told me that in general, the agents really like getting assigned to his protection detail. He explained that it’s not because the agents particularly do or
