ABOUT:
During this work I designed a cover for the book called The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. To the blue creative paper I added the text with white and CMYK printing. For the front part I created the silhouette of the iconic lighthouse which is an important element of the story. I cut out some pieces of the paper manually. As a result, we can see the layer placed behind the blue one. To make the cover more interesting I painted dots with phosphorescent dye to it. In the dark if we hold the book in our hands we can see the light of the lighthouse and the stars glowing.

KONCEPCIÓ:
A feladatom, egy védőborító redesign készítése volt, M. L. Stedman, Fény az óceán felett című regényéhez. A tervezés folyamán igyekeztem minél több kreatív, kevésbé szokványos eljárást alkalmazni. A borító anyagául kék kreatív papírt választottam, amelyre a szövegek, és egyéb motívumok, direkt fehér, és CMYK nyomtatással kerültek. A borító előlapjára a könyv ikonikus elemének, a világítótornynak a sziluettét helyeztem. Az ezen kívül fennmaradó részeket manuálisan vágtam ki, mely alá egy különálló lap került rögzítésre. A világítótorony forma adottságait kihasználva úgy döntöttem, hogy foszforeszkáló festéket alkalmazok a lap felületén. Ennek eredményeképp a könyvet sötétben kezünkben tartva, egy új vizuális élményben lehet részünk.
