Our project is a mobile application, can help people identify fruit trees in London. There are lots of fruit trees in London, which are not use to produce fruit, some of them is for view and some of them are for increase the green area, but these tree also can have fruit, when they maturing, usually these fruit just wasted, so our application can help people to identify fruit tree and upload the location to the organization, when the trees maturing, the organization can send people to take the fruit and use these fruit to produce other products.

 

The London Orchard organization is a London local community, now they are using twitter to communicate with their members. When someone saw any orchard tree they take a picture of it and twit it, let the organization know where is it and what kind of fruit is it. We want to make a mobile application for them this can really increase efficiency. Because mobile is a locative device and most of trees are in the outside, people need to go outside to discover them, so mobile is a really useful device for this job. When people saw any fruit trees in London, they can use our application to check the tree is already registered or not, if registered, people can see the situation of this tree and see who is response for it, if it’s not registered people can upload the location and information of it to the organization to register. Also this can help the organization to manage all the trees in London.
