Portfolio Showcase: VR Dimensions
Welcome to my portfolio,
In the following I will guide you through a selection of projects I helped realize or realized by myself. I'd like to emphazise that some of these projects were realized in collaboration with fellow students of my study program and that some of the assets you might see were created by third party providers. I do not claim credit for the work of others.
Passion Project 1: VR Dimensions
a) Task
I created this one-man passion project as a study for VR escapism and worldbuilding. VR Dimensions is supposed to consist of various sceneries, each with a unique atmosphere and style to it.
b) Goals
My goal was to practice worldbuilding with pre-existing assets and doubling down on the escapist properties of VR as a medium.
c) Result
Currently VR Dimensions offers two different sceneries or dimensions for the user to view in VR:
The Winter Wonderland scene was created in the heat of summer to serve as a refreshing virtual excursion into a freezing snowstorm.

For the second worldspace I wanted to create a place of calm and tranquility. Perhaps a place for meditation even. So I created a Eastern Zen Garden.

Since I quite enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of that setting, I experimented around with audio as well and added a second time of day with adjusted skybox and post processing to simulate evening.

d) Final Notes:
I would like to state again that I only used already existing free assets for which I do not claim credit in this project. I merely assembled them into small worldspaces.
As a final final note I would like to add that I am definitely considering to continue working on this project in my sparetime, if I can think of more unique and interesting locations to translate into VR, since there's still plenty of room on my idea board!
