Ahron Freilich's profile

Redevelopment Project to Create Affordable Housing

A Pittsburgh real estate professional with experience in development, investment, and management, Ahron Freilich currently serves as founding partner and chief executive officer of CLS Star LLC. In his leadership role with the large-scale development company, Ahron Freilich has headed recent efforts to redevelop the Angelus Convalescent Center.

Located in the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh, the project aims to combat the quickly increasing rent prices in East Liberty and create 33 apartments at rates below current market value. The complex plans to price at least 90 percent of its units below $1,000, and some units as low as $500.

Located just behind the former Penn State Plaza, the site is anchored by a Whole Foods and will redevelop the U-shaped Angelus Convalescent Center into a functional, aesthetic area. The site will feature a large central courtyard that will be a public-facing space and include mature trees, landscaping, and furniture to help create a park-like setting. The project is proceeding under the planning of architect Dan Rothschild.
