The Interagency Program Office (IPO) is a joint Department of Defense and Veteran's Affairs federal agency charged with creating electronic health records for soldiers, veterans, and their families. This monthly newsletter is part of the broader redesign work I've done for them. My perimeters were to work with their existing logo and basic style guide.

 

Once I did the core identity work, it was fairly straightforward applying it to this newsletter. The challenge was in make it completely accessible to screen readers. Like all governement agencies, their documents must be 508 compliant. Creating visually appealing and 508 compliant PDFs requires some planning and patience.
