HUATS NEXT?
a Singapore building series calendar.
The Brief
To aid the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Singapore raise awareness on what buildings should be conserved for heritage purposes for future generations, or be torn down for re-development on this space constraint island.
The Response
Created a campaign in the style of a Chinese calendar, that can be distributed to households, showcasing iconic buildings ranging from the past to present and the date of its demolition. At the end there is a call to action, which is aimed to spur Singaporeans to give their feedback.
Demolished buildings of the past
Art direction wise, i decided to stick with a soft red similar to what typical Chinese Calendars use. Pages 1- 8 are older buildings that have already been demolished, kicking off the calendar being faded and heavily creased to symbolize being forgotten.
Present Landmark buildings
While pages 9-14 are the prim and proper buildings that are still standing today, but could one day be demolished(?)
