Ringling College of Art and Design:
Bayou Point Amphitheater and Visitor Housing

Ringling College of Art and Design is in desperate need of a performance space. Despite having many programs and clubs centered on performance, the college has very few spaces to accommodate theatrics, and none devoted to it either. Depicted is a conceptual space, that highlights Ringling culture and Sarasota nature, while also using trans-formative architecture to fit many more needs such as a green recreational space, film screening location, outdoor lecture hall, and more. The amphitheater is accompanied by a nature walk, giving students a highly requested relaxation space while also showing off tropical flora and fauna, mirroring the local botanical gardens.
It is imperative that the nature walk and performance space both exhibit prime examples of both Sarasota and Ringling identity, and fit the surrounding architecture and nature. This is because, while this spaced will be highly utilized by both student and faculty alike, the location is also shared with Bayou Point Visitor housing complex, a new housing space designed for visiting artists at Ringling College.
Bayou Point Visitor Housing, featuring five rooms and a small window service cafe, reiterates modern architectural embellishments that are seen often throughout Ringling College, as well as unique stained glass windows that highlight the creativity of the college community. These help visitors to have a uniquely Ringling experience, and give passing cars or pedestrians a taste of Ringling identity.
