Pineywoods Corporate Headquarters

The principal of transparency for Pineywoods Capital’s corporate headquarters was essential to reinforce trust in the emerging financial brand.  Early conceptual design meetings reviewed how best this company’s philosophy could be melded into the Design.   Façade, entry, and circulation sketches led to a Parti that weaves itself from the grounded entry, through the interior, ending in the soaring skewed office volume.

From the 1st floor entry sequence, floor plan design, and the visual clarity of material choices, the design concept is to allow visitors the ability to honestly view the inner workings of the business and its transparent business processes.  The entry, tucked under the angled 2nd Floor volume is designed to bring a myriad of textural and sensory stimuli.

The Water Fountain begins your entry sequence with a soothing auditory impression.  Complimenting this auditory sensation is the smooth black Riverstone garden whose texture is carried into the base of the entry stair, and a visual connection through the glass entry, between the exterior and interior design.

The desire to maintain the visual texture/sensory experience vertically into the building’s main offices was manifested in a glass stair cantilevered above a matching interior Riverstone garden illuminating your vertical ascension.  The view through the stairs end in a juxtaposition between Riverstone stair base and the illuminated transparent treads.

Landing at the 2nd Floor, you have a commanding view through the conference room wall, out the framed storefront glass wall to the Platt Street corridor.  Each office space continues the visual Parti, while maintaining financial and client privacy.

At night, a meticulous illumination design articulates the building façade, reinforcing the concept of visibility. The culmination of the transparent concept was angling and opening the building’s “Heart” to its community by angling the building’s main conference room to the community it serves.

The design is clear functionalism elevated to a modern articulated design through the façade design, floor plan, and selection of materials.
