According to the given brief, I have to design a website for the chosen craft of Kantha that will help to promote the mentioned craft. Numerous pre-existing informative websites about Indian crafts mentions the history, origin, and legacy of the craft. Apart from these, there are e- commerce websites where users can buy a product which is a curation of the craft. What lacks in most of these websites are topics related to the artisans. The people who carry forward the craft are the least mentioned topics and it has been an unsaid rule since the commercialization of the craft that they remain invisible to the end-user. Therefore, the proposal for my website is to make a platform for these artisans so that they can come to the front end and be visible to the users.

The suggested name for the website is Snippets and Stitches. Snippets means small portions or fragments. Thus, the name has been derived because the ambiguity of the term snippets leads us to an end number of possibilities such as snippets of hope, aspirations, dreams, desires etc that the women kept within themselves. And stitches is related to the very own Kantha stitch.

Snippets and Stitches will be a dynamic website with suitable user interactivity helping the user to identify the most important facts about the craft of Kantha thereby making more and more people aware of it. Not only will this website be just a combination of informative web pages but it will also be a platform for the artisans to voice their opinions regarding the craft. It will help the users to contact the artisans and connect with them through the artisan profile. The website will also provide a motif folio segmenting the traditional and modern motifs so that the users can choose and customize their products on their own.
