The Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is a windswept island of the Western coast of Scotland. Connected to the mainland by only a small bridge or seasonal ferry, it is a remote and rugged place, with dramatic landscapes shaped by nature and battered by a moody and ever changing weather system. Despite this, it has long held a special place in my heart as one of the few paces I am constantly drawn back to. It has a personality and an atmosphere to it that conjures the magical and sparks the imagination. I prefer the cold Autumn months, where the days are short, the light perfect and the people sparse.
These images are from a trip I took in November 2019 as a relaxing escape away from the rest of the world. The weather was kind to us and the light was excellent re-enforcing that special atmosphere that only Scotland can generate. Here is a flavour of that atmosphere.
