Lviv Gallery of Contemporary Art
The project provides the construction of a Gallery of Contemporary Art on Square of Prince Yaroslav Osmomysl in Lviv. The offer is to construct a gallery complex on the existing basement of a «Zolotyi Lev» hotel, which was never built to the end, where the Dobrobut market locates now. The dismantling solution is entirely defensible in this case, because this market is being neglected. The design site has a very good location in the city structure, namely in the historic centre of Lviv, next to the cultural and historical architectural monuments.
Lviv Gallery of Contemporary Art is a powerful community centre, which, in addition to exhibition halls, will also provide space for self-development and cultural events, such as lectures and workshops, viewing of scientific and documentary films, holding festivals of various arts and more. The complex also has a number of facilities: a café, a bookstore, a library with fiction and two levels of underground parking for visitors and staff. The project also provides the reconstruction of the square in front of the gallery building, the design of the courtyard inside the complex for cultural events, as well as the restoration of the park on the side of Syanska Street.
