Description

Wurman produced several projects of comparative cartography beginning with Cities: Comparisons of Form and Scale in 1962, his first book at the age of 27, the plans of 50 cities in the world constructed to the same scale out of white plasticine. Then, co-authoring with Joseph Passanneau, he developed an over-sized publication which was the first comparative, statistical analysis of 20 American cities, published by MIT. He later did his own Road Atlas when he realized that the popular Rand McNally Atlas presumed that you drove across the United States Alphabetically.
