This new museum is dedicated to the history, science, culture, and preservation of water.  Located on the crest of Kirkman Hill - adjacent to the SITE-designed Ross's Landing Park and Plaza - this new facility is intended to integrate with its circular site as a simultaneous above ground/underground experience.  In celebration of nature’s hydrological processes, the exhibition strategy is a series of lateral information walls that carry water-based information from inside to outside.  In addition to these specialized display environments, the building also provides a selection of grand spaces for conferences, an I-Max theater, study center, library, administrative offices, restaurants specializing in aquaculture cuisine, and a health center for water-oriented therapies.
