Catalina Street Residence
Los Angeles, California, 2009
Architectural renovation and interior design of a Spanish Colonial residence originally built in 1922. Archways were added to transition between rooms and several small rooms were turned into one large indoor/outdoor kitchen area extending into a new interior courtyard with hanging gardens and a fireplace by Stan Bitters. Architecturally the house was connected to the outdoors and the floor plan was opened up making sure it felt as if the house was not touched since the 1920’s. Interiors were made to feel connected, a reflection of how our clients live and entertain. It was important the house didn’t feel “decorated” but layered, a bohemian mix of collected pieces.
