The Sequoia system was unmatched in completeness of design and attention to detail, communicating reliability and technological advancement while being inviting to the user and non-intimidating to the patient. The Sequoia’s classic design enabled it to have a 12 year lifespan. The system’s user area is characterized by softer forms while the technical area has harder forms to evoke the technological attributes. It also accommodated the ergonomic needs of the operator with its highly adjustable lift mechanism, a tilt and swivel monitor, and four wheel pivot for easily positioning the unit. Control key groups were differentiated through form and organization, allowing the user to recognize the entire keyboard by touch. Soon after its launch, the Sequoia became the sales leader in the ultrasound market.
